Prerequisite Skills

This course can accommodate Students with little to no prior formal training; however, Students must be capable of performing the following actions to standard with the rifle and handgun they intend to use during training:

  1. Apply firearms safety rules
  2. Engage targets from distances up to 15m with a semi-automatic rifle and handgun
  3. Conduct Emergency Reloads with a semi-automatic rifle and handgun
  4. Resolve common malfunctions in a semi-automatic rifle and handgun
  5. Transition from a slung rifle to a handgun
  6. Enter, engage from, and exit common shooting positions

  • 600 Rounds Factory Loaded Rifle Ammunition
  • 150 Rounds Factory Loaded Pistol Ammunition
  • Semi-Automatic Rifle in Good Working Order
  • Semi-Automatic Handgun in Good Working Order
  • 4-5 Rifle Magazines (Will Be Dropped On Ground!)
  • 3-4 Pistol Magazines (Will Be Dropped On Ground!)
  • Sling
  • Strong Side, Outside the Waist Band (OWB) Holster That Allows One Handed Re-Holster
  • Rifle Magazine Pouches, 3-4 Minimum
  • Pistol Magazine Pouches, 2-3 Minimum
  • Chest Rig, Gun Belt, or Both Capable of Supporting Required Spare Magazines
  • Ear Protection (Electronic Recommended)
  • Eye Protection (Full Wrap Recommended)
  • Water Bottle or Camelbak Type Hydration System
  • Comfortable Outdoor Clothing, Weather Appropriate
  • Closed Toe Shoes/Boots
